Women’s Intersectional Art Space

Women’s Intersectional Art Space

exhibition in Singapore, Visual Art Center

Myanmar people, both inside and outside the country, are participating in many different ways to support the NUG and civilians who are suffering from the civil war following the coup of 2021. At Singapore’s Visual Art Center, Chuu collaborated with Coup & Canvas and WIA Space to show her support through art.

The Artworks in the exhibition were earlier works of Chuu from 2018 in which she strongly highlighted the unequal situation of Myanmar women and encouraged women to speak out about the issues that society wants them to ignore, such as abuse, harassment, and the social pressure to be a ‘good girl’. These works came in the middle of Chuu’s experimentation with Myanmar fabric as a canvas for her paintings, representing how women have been discriminated against, even down to their clothes. It was also the mid-journey time of her using Myanmar fabric to tell about the social pressure and the way women got treated even to their clothes.

Audiences who witnessed Chuu’s recent exhibition felt the essence of intersectional feminism through different times and painting styles. This was an exhibition where the team felt the strength of the collective effort of the artists through their artworks.

with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws.
Four future luxury hotels, an array of restaurants and bars, world-class entertainment and luxury retail will be
part of The Star Brisbane. Rich in history, Treasury Brisbane boasts a five-star heritage hotel,
ten restaurants and bars, and the non-stop excitement
    of the city’s only casino.
The Chief Executive Officer for The Star Entertainment Group Limited,
Daniel Finch, disclosed that The Star Brisbane is to sit
at the heart of the mixed-used Queen’s Wharf scheme and come complete with a two-story casino hosting as many as 2,
500 slots. Soaring 100 metres above the Brisbane River, the
rooftop space features spectacular restaurants and bars where locals and visitors meet,
celebrate, or simply soak in the breathtaking views. Positioned at the
heart of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, The Star Brisbane commenced a staged opening on August 29,
2024. It’s part of a huge procurement of public pieces designed to keep « art at the precinct’s heart ».
The Sky Deck’s viewing platform, along with a trio of restaurants and bars – Cicada Blu, Aloria
and Babblers – will swing their doors
open before the end of the year.
The Star Brisbane also features the Sky Deck – a 250-metre stretch of
restaurants and bars, and the Leisure Deck running between four
towers, offering 12,000 square metres of open-air
space. Positioned at the heart of the Queen’s Wharf precinct, The Star Brisbane will deliver four new

to try! A growing list of restaurants and bars across the precinct including Sky Deck and The Terrace, where the pedestrian bridge connects to the city, are under final fit outs and will open progressively.
Brisbane casino gaming centers around Treasury Brisbane,
a heritage-listed complex that spans two beautifully restored historic buildings in the heart
of the city. The company’s fortunes have significantly impacted Queensland’s casino landscape, with recent financial challenges creating
uncertainty in the industry. Today’s planners are searching for
venues that deliver atmosphere, flexibility and experiences guests will actually talk
about long after the event ends. The company employs approximately 9,000 people across these states, including
3,000 in Brisbane alone, making its stability crucial to the
    local economy.
The investigation was opened after allegations surfaced that the company had ties to illicit junket groups, including the now-defunct
Suncity Group and its former CEO Alvin Chau, who is currently serving 18 years in prison in Macau for illegal gambling charges.
This was due to a host of reasons, including
pandemic-related construction delays and the company’s spate of regulatory troubles over the last three-plus years.
As the company gets ready to launch Star Brisbane, its existing Treasury Brisbane casino will close.
The second phase, the company said, will include the Dorsett and Rosewood
hotel towers, more dining and retail offerings and what are referred to as « Heritage buildings. »
No timeline was given for this phase. In the past year, the company has twice sought funds from shareholders and has tapped its biggest investors for extra cash.

Locals and tourists can be among the first to book a stay in one of the
340 luxurious new rooms within The Star Brisbane’s signature five-star
hotel, The Star Grand, at the heart of the transformational $3.6 billion Queen’s
Wharf Brisbane precinct. Named after the first
Indigenous parliamentarian, the bridge will link the cultural heart
of South Bank to The Star Brisbane’s dining runway, The Terrace (Level Four) and act as a thoroughfare
to the greater Brisbane CBD. A growing list of
restaurants and bars across the precinct including on Sky
Deck, and at The Terrace, where the pedestrian bridge connects to the city are under
final fit-outs and will open progressively.

Located in the heart of Brisbane with a grand heritage
setting, Treasury Brisbane offers all of its guests a premium entertainment experience 24 hours a day.
« Our incredible team of nearly 3,000 dedicated individuals have poured heart and soul into creating a resort that will redefine entertainment and hospitality standards in our city. However, the recent extension of the tenure of Star Sydney’s special manager seems to suggest that the company isn’t quite ready yet. The new Neville Bonner Bridge will connect South Bank to Queen’s Wharf, where there will also be a sky deck, leisure deck and multiple restaurants and bars. « Like the rest of Brisbane, I
am excited for this game-changing development to invigorate the CBD –
including our nighttime economy – and we will soon announce more exact dates for the diary,
» says The Star Brisbane chief executive officer Daniel Finch (pictured, above). « A buyer would have to be comfortable with
a company in Star’s circumstances to be a joint landlord and take the risk of
default under the agreement. » On Monday, the company notified the ASX that the deadline for termination has now been extended to July 31st.
Locals and tourists can be among the first to book a stay in one of the 340 luxurious new rooms within The Star Brisbane’s signature five-star hotel, The Star Grand, at the heart of the transformational $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. Additional dining and leisure experiences will be unveiled progressively, including restaurants and bars on Sky Deck and at The Terrace. The executive also asserted that the events center at the $2.4 billion Queen’s Wharf should be ready to debut in September while his company is working ‘at full throttle’ to get its adjacent hotels ready for guests.
« The Star has been advised that Charter Hall no longer intends to proceed with the proposed transaction, » the company confirmed in an ASX announcement on June 20 last year. The Queensland government only granted Star’s new casino licence yesterday, although the company is still under the purview of Mr Weeks. A show-cause notice on Star’s casino licence was initially deferred until December 2023, then deferred again to December this year to allow the company to develop an internal remediation plan. Then-Queensland attorney-general Shannon Fentiman appointed Nick Weeks as special manager to oversee Star after the company was deemed unsuitable to hold a casino licence. « The heart of
that vision starts to come together over the next few days.
Star Brisbane chief executive Daniel Finch declared today the company was progressing well
in efforts to satisfy the state government’s standards on anti money-laundering and safe gambling practices.
